Where Have I Been?
So i've been taking flak for not updating my blog in a LOOOOooooOOOg 'hiatus'. Where the hell have i been??
Well..around..
Lotsa things have happened over the course of the past month.
So let me just list it down
1. Some nut broke into my house in Kuching. Funny thing was it had to happen the night before repro exam. Mom called and i was then frantically trying to get a flight back to Kch just to be with her. For some funny reason, AirAsia ran out of seats.
So i had to settle with MAS which was surprisingly (not to mention expensive) diappointing. The seat was too soft. Air conditioner wasnt working. And there werent any hot stewardess. So that was 400 bucks wasted for a one way ticket.
Was fine with them taking the laptop(my mom is a genius..she insured it!! haha)..but they just had to take a pen my dad gave me(was kinda valuable..more so in terms of sentimental value)...oh well..
2. I completed the Siemens 10km run...woohoo!! And i did it in 67 minutes with a busted knee(not too bright but heck the endorphins kept me goin)...plus i beat my cell leader, a seasoned runner by 14 minutes!! That was the good part. Then came the dehydration toward the end. 'Brilliant' organisers decided to not give us isotonic drinks on the way..but instead just give us water...I mean wat the hell were they thinking?? didnt they have some kinda medical liason??
Dehydrated and all, I headed to the medical booth for treatment. and NO ONE WAS THERE!!! There were a bunch of blur and dumb kids just chatting around and staring at me.. was already cramping up...feeling woozy...couldnt walk straight...and couldnt see straight..
Saw a bunch of guys in shirts which apparently stated they were Unit Kecemasan DBKL...my frickin ass...i asked them for help..they just starred at me and told me to walk to the other end of the field for a drink...a$$holes!!
Thank God some officials lent me a hand and grabbed some fluids to rehydrate...
Man that ruined an otherwise lovely day.
3.Jon, my housemate moved out. And jeremy's moving in..which is pretty cool. I still have a another room to rent tho. Anyone interested??
Its a fully furnished master bedroom with a lovely view.
4. Completed renal system...just a few more weeks and I'm officially a 3rd year student..another step closer to 100hr weeks and grumpy patients.
5. Watched transformers..enjoyed it thoroughly..well at least the fanboy in me did..had loads of flaws..a weak story...typical michael bay issues..but optimus more than made up for it for me...i want the toy! I think the movie brought tears of joy to every 80s kid. Ahh th shivers and feeling of nostalgia when Optimus first transformed
Saw die-hard and enjoyed that even more...man this is the first great action movie since The Rock(ok..so michael bay kinda nailed it in this one)...its a no brainer but hey its action..its no Perfume but it works..yippee-kay-yay!
Hated Harry Potter..it just wasnt wholesome enough and i dun mean by the lack of fight scenes(speaking of which..was proably the length of the trailer)..If theres a reason to watch the movie its Emma Watson who is blossoming into a beautiful lady. I'm just hoping the sequel to 7th movie will be the college version Harry Pothead And the Magical Weed
6.Oh and I'm back in kuching AGAIN..didnt bother to go for the Rainforest fest..too lazy to drive..haha..missed the 'mermaids'..darn
Guess those are the main highlights...cant possibly list everything..plus its late and I'm tired and hungry.
Til next time..

Van's A Drug
Van left for Scotland today.
She's been a great 'on and off' pal over the past few years.
Its funny how in Kuching everyone always seems to have mutual friends. And it was the case for Van and I.
Van is great company..has great taste in music, books...she's fun. Witty.
Likewise, I'm glad you're from Kuching. Meeting again will, indeed be a certainty.
So yeah, Van's a drug...and I'm an junkie :-)

Champion's League
Its not your glitzy european super league. No Henrys, no Kakas and definitely no Ronaldos.
Yeah, its your average interbatch futsal tournament. Thats bout it.
And we lost in the group stages thanks to some crappy refereeing decisions. He disallowed 2 goals. Now, now I'm not being a spoil sport or anything...but its absolutely the ref's fault. The guy must have gotten his referee from some God forsaken flying school.
the fact remains. We lost.
So what? We had bannana leaf rice after. Which was pretty good.Haha.

Prima Selayang Pt 2
Then there’s the bunch of amazing band of brothers (and sisters) who journey there tirelessly week in, week out. These are young (cough* cough*) men and women of God who could be out doing other things but choose to come.
I first got to know of the program after being conned by a ‘certain someone’ to organize a medical camp in conjunction with the E06 carnival in Prima. It was at a meeting in Pastor Lee Choo’s house where I first got to meet up with Mok and Gin (You guys have been a great blessing to me…Thanks for driving me around).
That’s basically how it all started. The rest is history.
"At the millenium leaders mandate graduation dinner"
"It isn't easy supporteing mike's weight...jk"
"Bringing it on"
"The Crew in Poser mode"

Prima Selayang Pt. 1
Put me on the spot. Ask me for a sole highlight every month: I’d have to say the Prima Selayang Mentoring Program and Children’s Cell.
These kids have wealth…wealth of enthusiasm and fun. Its just so encouraging. You can’t help but smile when a whole bunch of them cheer your name. Funny thing is, I find myself enjoying myself there more than I could ever in the big city. They’re just so honest…no show…its just them and you. So humbling.
"I love you guys!"

The Day After
“Pirates 3 was kinda fun. Kinda.
For a movie inspired by a theme park ride, it certainly lacks the thrills and spills of one. The first was one of the most fun movies I’ve watched. Its even up there with the Indy series for me.
The story was pretty well thought out.. but why the heck make a movie akin to Matrix 2 and 3(where they decided to explore the meaning of life, universe and everything, when what everyone wanted was a movie bout man vs machine and kick ass acton). Too convoluted ala Spidey 3 (which left me in tears...being a fanboy)
What happened to the rip roaring swashbuckling adventure of the first?
Jack Sparrow is cool.. but not as cool as he used to be. They decided to make him John Nash minus the well thought out conspiracies. He’s still cool though.
Geoferry Rush has chemistry with Johnny Depp. Always thought it would be fun to see more man-lovin’ between the two.
Orlando..Orlando..Orlando. Why??!!!!!
Keira is beginning to disappear as she shrinks laterally.
Chow yun Fat was in for a total of 20 minutes. Dun understand why he's even in the front end of the credits. Was just wondering why they travelled all the way from the Caribbeans to Singapore to get a ship and crew. Ok.. how the hell did they get to singapore in the first place?? Why not France or something?? Its alot closer than scaling the Pacific Ocean!
But the most awesome bout the movie is….KEITH freakin RICHARDS!!! They just had to put him in. And guess what…they actually gave him a guitar. FUHYOH!!!
But ah.. the special effects boleh tahan juga wan. Whirlpools and stuff. Sweet Eye Candy. Typical summer stuff.
Sigh… I just want a good summer blockbuster. That’s the problem with sequels. Sometimes less really is more.
Bourne Ultimatum and Ocean’s 13 better good”
Came home from the movie at 4am. Rushed to Club 98 for what’s left of the Champion’s League final.
I realized that I’m actually losing interest in footie. This is pretty alarming!
Want proof?… I dozed at a mamak stall in the middle of the FA Cup finals! Nooooooo…!!!!! (Perhaps it was 2 mediocre sides playing or maybe its me)
I need help!
Gwen!!!

So Long And Thanks For All The Fish
Lemme just clarify one thing, nobody died.
Today Joy left for Penang. Been a great few months fellowshipping with her in cell and stuff.
She’s one of those gals, wise beyond her age. God’s wisdom and favor is definitely upon her.
So yeah, to Joy… All the best in your exams, continue to grow and live for God.
You Rock!
*Oh and all the best with the G-man (jk :P)
Who ate Steve’s grape? (jk)

Its past 12. Its quiet outside. Indie music blaring in my room. Feel like Deckard minus the noir.
I'm not prepared for clinicals tomorrow. Sigh.
I’m hungry. Forgot bout dinner. I mean can you even begin to comprehend the fact that I would doing such a thing?
Its times like this you wonder why you do what you do. You’re all stoned and exhausted from the day.
So here I am just procrastinating. Yes, procrastination is bad. (Don’t try this at home)
I really should be studying.
I think too much at times…I’m just too lazy to list it all down.
The day starts at 7am. That’s when Stephen, Rachel and I go all ‘Rakan Muda’ and stuff.
I’d better start studying. And then hit the showers.
Procrastination is bad. It sucks.

On a side note
Been waiting awhile for watch this movie. The prequel, aptly named 28 Days Later was an amazing British indie horror-chase flick. it was the movie that introduced Cillian Murphy aka Scarecrow in Batman Begins. it was one of the most entertaining and heart skipping movie I've seen (and I've seen alot)
So how did the sequel fare?
Put it this way...it was freaking awesome.
My fanboy aside, it really was that good. Excellent pacing. Enough shock moments to wet your pants dry.
The movie picks off where the last movie ended, about six months have passed since the virus wiped out London. British citizens are now returning to District One, which is a safe zone as part of a U.S. military project to re-populate and re-start the city. But the infection still lives among carriers who show no outward symptoms probably due to some natural immunity. Well all havok breaks loose and the rest is history. Just wathc the movie lah.
Even with its pretty big budget, the filmmakers still decided to go with raw indie feel which i found was pretty effective. Plenty of over the head 3rd person shots This is also exhibited in the siundtrack. One to look out, or rather listen for.
This movie is one heck of a freaky one. Its not your typical slasher flick creepy...rather, its effectively creepy.
They've taken gore in movies up a notch with this one, even surpassing 28 Days Later. So yeah, it's not for the faint of heart.
I love chase flicks.
Check it out for yourself!
I'll be going for Pirates of the Caribbean: At worlds End on Wednesday with Merl and Stephen. Disney, it better not suck!

adjective

bizarre |biˈzär| |bəˌzɑr| |bɪˌzɑː|
adjective
very strange or unusual, esp. so as to cause interest or amusement
..in other words, kooky and freaky.
These are some of the terminology describing the ‘other-worldly’ experience we (Gwen, Merl and I) encountered on our way back from dinner. So terrifying was it that it sent waves of chills down my spine, culminating in hair-on-end impulse (Oh man, I’m sounding like my textbooks!!).
The horror…The horror!!
We were left utterly mortified and petrified…filled with trepidation.
We survived it. But will we manage after this? Will the scars heal? Only time will tell.
What manner of oddball exploits have we witnessed?
Will Batman and Robin survive the Joker and save Gotham from his evil clutches? (jk... just had to say it)
Stay tuned for more.

Pilot Pt.2 Bottle opener
I admit, I’m pretty late to the party. The lights are down, the song’s playing and the couples dancing.
I’m leaning against the wall by the LSD-laced punch. I see a bunch of loners congregating beside me. From their forlorn expressions, they hate the party. No one maintains eye contact.
Sucks being late to the party. But hey, better late than never, right?
I proceed to the bar. Ask for a bottle of soda(I know).
“Need a hand with that?,” bar tender asks. He thinks I’m a loser. I don’t give a crap
“Nah, got my own bottle opener,” I said. Popped it open, gulped it down.
This party is gonna get better, right?
Will just have to wait and see.

Pilot Pt. 1
Peer pressure sucks. And I am weak. I have succumbed to it.
So here I am hitching a ride on the bandwagon of Web 2.0. Does that mean I'm Time's Person Of the Year? (refer to Jan issue of Time) Hmmm.
In the CalLab now. Class at 4.
Hmmm..I think I'll go for a jog later.
This ia a mundane post
Shall update the blog with more profound stuff in the days to come.
Stay tuned.
